Terms of use

Last updated: 27 September 2026

These terms apply to your use of blueheadline.com, our newsletter and anything else we publish (“Blue Headline”, “we”, “us”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. Information only, not professional advice

Everything on Blue Headline is general information about published research. It is not medical, health, psychological, financial, legal or other professional advice, and it doesn’t create any professional relationship with you.

Research is often early, limited or later overturned. Never ignore professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read here. Talk to a qualified professional before making decisions about your health, treatment, medication, diet, money or legal matters. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

2. Accuracy and no warranty

We work hard to report research accurately, but we can’t guarantee that every article is complete, current or free of errors. Findings can change as new evidence appears.

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t promise that the site will always be available, secure or free of errors or viruses.

3. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blue Headline and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its content. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, consequential and special damages, and loss of data, profit or opportunity, even if we were told such loss was possible.

You use the site and act on its content at your own risk. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

4. Links, advertising and third parties

Our articles link to research papers and other websites we don’t control. We aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices.

The site shows advertising served by third parties such as Google. An ad appearing here is not an endorsement of the advertiser, product or service. Any dealings you have with advertisers are between you and them.

5. Our content and how you may use it

The articles, graphics, design and other original material on Blue Headline belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws.

You may read and share our articles for personal, non-commercial use. You may quote short passages if you credit Blue Headline and link to the original article.

Without our written permission, you may not republish our articles in full, sell or license our content, or copy it in bulk. That includes scraping, crawling for bulk collection, and using our content to train or feed artificial intelligence systems.

Research papers, figures and images from other sources remain the property of their owners and are used under their licences.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site for anything unlawful, harmful or fraudulent;
  • try to break into, disrupt, overload or probe the site, its servers or its security;
  • use bots or automated tools to access the site in bulk, except search engines following our robots.txt;
  • post spam, abuse, malware, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights.

We may block access or remove content at our discretion, without notice, if we believe these terms are being broken.

7. Comments and messages you send us

You are responsible for anything you post or send us. By posting a comment, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to display and keep it on the site. We may moderate, edit for length, or remove comments at any time.

8. The newsletter

The Blue Headline briefing is free. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

9. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what data we collect, including through cookies and advertising, and how we use it. It forms part of these terms.

10. Indemnity

You agree to compensate Blue Headline for any claims, losses or costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.

11. Changes

We may update these terms and change or remove any part of the site at any time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.

12. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we haven’t waived it. These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about using the site.

13. Contact
