Premier League Showdown: Can Struggling Leicester City Upset Chelsea’s Winning Streak?

I’m excited to share my thoughts on the upcoming soccer match between Leicester and Chelsea. Leicester are currently in 15th place in the Premier League and have lost their last three matches, including a disappointing 0-1 defeat to Southampton in their previous game. The pressure is mounting on manager Brendan Rodgers as his side is lacking confidence and form. Leicester has also failed to register a single shot on target against Southampton and desperately needs forward Kelechi Iheanacho to start finding the net.

City vs Chelsea

On the other hand, Chelsea has only managed three wins in their last 16 matches, and manager Graham Potter is also under pressure. However, they turned in a solid performance in their previous game, winning 1-0 against Leeds, which was something the fans had been desperate for in recent times. Wesley Fofana also scored his first Chelsea goal against Leeds, which could give the team a boost.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10:00 am ET at King Power Stadium in Leicester. In terms of prediction, I believe the game is expected to be tough, with Leicester’s defense being carved open on many occasions in recent weeks. Chelsea is predicted to win by the odd goal.

In their last game, Chelsea won 2-0 against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, which could provide a spark for their season. Meanwhile, Leicester lost their last four matches, including a 0-1 loss against Southampton, and are fighting for survival in the league. Chelsea won the corresponding fixture against Leicester 2-1 back in August and won convincingly at King Power Stadium last season. They are also unbeaten in the last four meetings between the two teams.

James Maddison may have a point to prove after criticism following the defeat at St. Mary’s and is a player to watch for Leicester, while Kai Havertz was the hero for Chelsea against Borussia Dortmund. Leicester failed to score in three of their last four matches, and Chelsea has only scored two goals since the end of December. This could be a tight match with few goals, and a win for Chelsea will increase the pressure on Brendan Rodgers.

It’s worth noting that Leicester is currently fighting against relegation and have lost their last three league games. A loss against Chelsea, coupled with other results, could see them end the weekend back in the relegation zone. Chelsea’s Graham Potter will welcome back Reece James and Mason Mount, who missed the weekend win over Leeds United, but are expected to feature in Saturday’s game. However, Chelsea is still missing several key players due to injury, including Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta, Edouard Mendy, and Armando Broja. Christian Pulisic and N’Golo Kante have been long-term absences, but Kante has been involved in training for the past two weeks while Pulisic was partially involved in training on Monday.

Overall, I’m looking forward to an exciting game between Leicester and Chelsea, and I predict a win for Chelsea by the odd goal.
