The 'run as admin, disable antivirus, pray to the GPU gods' install ritual is somehow still alive and well in 2025 for certain software categories. The wild thing is that it's completely avoidable with better packaging and signing — the developers just often don't prioritise it. Glad this resonated, even if the experience that prompted it probably wasn't fun!

Ah yes, nothing says ‘professional software’ like having to run it as admin, uninstall your antivirus, AND bribe your GPU with a rollback just to launch it. Tech progress, baby!

Is anyone else finding the hardware requirements for Resolve a bit extreme? Not everyone can afford a high-end GPU and 32GB of RAM. Wish there were better optimizations for low-spec PCs.

The antivirus blocking Resolve issue is so real. Spent hours troubleshooting until I realized my antivirus was the culprit. Added it to the exceptions list, and problem solved.
